Buddhist meditation

The Buddha himself suggested that one seek closer to nature when one wants to meditate. One could sit on the floor or on a  zafu  pillow in a quiet place out in nature. This type of meditation seeks to reach a state of focus and calm.

Although there are many types of Buddhist forms of contemplation, they all share a common goal: to achieve enrichment and nirvana.

Zen or zazen meditation

This type of meditation is a minimalist principle that makes peace a tangible option.

In zen meditation, posture and breathing are very important. You need to sit right on a chair, cushion or bench. Your legs should be crossed and you should place one hand on top of the other. Eventually, you need to start breathing deeply.

Although it may seem simple, meditating with zen is really difficult because it requires total control over your body and mind.

Transcendental meditation

Transcendental meditation is neither religious nor requires a concrete position, mental stage or a mantra. It’s simply about staying calm for a while. People who practice it usually do it twice a day.

This is one of the oldest techniques. Those who practice it see it as a process of self-purification, which requires you to stay focused on your breathing and your body with the aim of reaching an understanding of the universal truths of volatility, suffering and the selfless.

Taoist meditation

The goal of Taoist meditation is for you to feel all the energy stored in your body.

Other types of meditation

Guided meditation is one of the easier types of meditation

You can find many forms of guided meditation on social media and platforms such as Youtube and Spotify. They consist in the presence of a spiritual guide. This person will actually help you overcome the hassle of meditating, especially if you are a beginner.

Mindfulness meditation

This type of modern immersion focuses on consciousness and concentration.

Meditation during yoga

A good deal of yoga exercises involve starting or ending with meditation, and it is an essential element of any yoga class. It helps you get into a state of peace, which is incredibly beneficial if one practices asanas.
