You Decide In The Emotional Battle

You decide in the emotional battle

The emotional struggle is the struggle that takes place inside us. In any situation or circumstance in our lives, we can amplify our emotions and focus on a feeling of anger, envy, jealousy, sadness, arrogance – or perhaps instead we could feel joy, peace, love, hope, humility and generosity.

Emotions are manifested in a very personal way. They show up in our facial expressions, attitude and in a specific mental state. The emotions we focus on in the emotional struggle are going to affect how we view our lives. Depending on how we view life, we come to think and behave in either a proactive way or a divided way.

By experimenting with some of our emotions more often than others, we can influence our state of mind and motivation, as well as our personality and actions. If we choose to see the things that happen to us in a positive light, it will result in a physiological response, which is linked to the production of certain hormones, such as norepinephrine and serotonin.

Is the path you choose always the right one? The most important thing is that you make a choice, not the extent to which that choice is successful.

The brain and the emotions

Experts in the field of emotions, such as Klaus Scherer from the University of Geneva and the now deceased Richard Lazarus, suggested that an important factor in modulating emotions is the thoughts we have about what we experience. The abilities and mental processes, such as attention, memory, reason, and decision making, allow us to consciously interpret events and decide how we can best respond to those events.

Depending on our cognitive ability and our ability to modulate our emotions, we can choose exactly which emotions are right for each situation. Then we can experiment with them. F ølelsesmæssig modulation consists of a series of cognitive strategies. They help us control our emotions in the emotional struggle.

The most interesting thing in this field is that the emotion and brain experts have found evidence that we can teach our brain to modulate our emotions. The key most likely lies in the brain’s ability to change, in its neuroplasticity. In fact, it has been proven that our brain’s ability to change is far more superior than first thought.

Our environment, as well as our behavior, can initiate reorganization in certain brain functions. Most people can learn how to transform their emotions using certain techniques and therapeutic exercises. This means that we are able to create change much deeper than what was foreseen just a few years ago.

You choose your path. You choose your destiny. If you choose well, you will be happy.

You choose how you feel, based on the emotional struggle

We are made of light and darkness. In each of us there is a battle that we either win or lose depending on what we choose to nurture. We all have a life full of light and shadow, of ups and downs, of clarity and darkness. But it all helps to make us who we are. That which we expect and deny. What we say out loud and what we keep to ourselves.

Only after we accept this can we start making progress on our path. We can learn how to love ourselves and change dark times into bright ones. Only with light do we shine in the darkness and light up others. We transform the feelings of fear, anger, jealousy and arrogance into feelings of love, hope, humility, joy and generosity. They are going to be a part of us during the transformation process of the emotional struggle.

Dealing with our emotions in most situations that life leads us into, and developing our positive emotions,  is fundamental to establishing strategies for modulation and emotional self-perception. They will lead us to develop a positive outlook on life and ourselves.

Do not be afraid of the dark. For only you can determine what darkness means; it is you who chooses to see the light.
